Lakeside Dining at the Hotel Eldorado

I was able to dine at Lakeside Dining at the Hotel Eldorado in Kelowna, British Columbia, for both dinner and breakfast. Each experience was very good. And that view!!
Dinner
Dinner at Lakeside Dining in the Hotel Eldorado is unforgettable. The service is impeccable and our waiter had over 20 years experience on staff. The chef focuses on seasonal and organic Okanagan farm to table products from local suppliers. I am a big steak lover and Lakeside did not disappoint with its AAA Sterling Silver Beef selections. This was truly a memorable meal.
Starter

I started my meal with the Classic Eldorado Prawn Cocktail. Jumbo prawns with house made cocktail sauce served on a bed of greens. I liked that it was served on greens with the cocktail sauce on the side and not in a glass swimming in sauce. On a hot day, this was crisp, fresh and served very cold. A great way to start a meal.

Another yummy starter, the Campari Tomato Salad did not disappoint. When produce is fresh and local you can really taste the difference . The BC vine ripe tomatoes were sliced and layered with bocconcini cheese then topped with arugula and thin slices of red onion. The salad was drizzled with local balsamic reduction and Sicilian extra virgin olive oil and plated with a basil puree.
Main Course

The New York Striploin Steak was a steak lover’s dream. The chef grilled a High River Alberta Sterling Silver striploin to perfection and topped it with Cafe de Paris butter (not sure what it was but it was so good). The sides included crushed baby potatoes, seasonal vegetables and I skimped the sauteed wild mushrooms. The beef was so tender that I could almost cut it with my fork.
Dessert

The chef prepared a special dessert sampler for me because I was on a media visit . I wish every restaurant would offer this for dessert as I can never decide what I want. It was so nice to try a variety of delectable desserts.
Breakfast

Morning is so peaceful at the Hotel Eldorado. The soft morning light and cool temperatures was a nice break from the coming heat. Everyday favorites filled the breakfast menu. They were elevated to a gourmet level when given the Eldorado touch.

I enjoyed the Classic Eggs Benedict for breakfast. Instead of an English muffin the base of this Benedict was an aged Armstrong cheddar cheese biscuit. Shaved country ham, and poached free range eggs topped the biscuit. A generous portion of house made Hollandaise sauce completed the dish which was accompanied with fried potatoes.

Such a nice serving of Hollandaise sauce enough for every bite. Look at all the nooks and crannies on that biscuit, you can just see the flavor incorporated throughout. Shaved ham is so nice because it is much lighter tasting than a chunk of Canadian bacon that is traditional for this dish. Well done, Lakeside Dining.
